A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

Pour more than you think. Keep going longer than you think.

The two things the women with the best results have in common, and the one page to come back to whenever you wonder if you are doing it right.

HERO · palm holding a real pool of oil, tilted, bottle in frame

Bonjour,

There is a bottle of Queen Oil in your bathroom, or one on its way, and I want to tell you the two things I wish someone had told me the first week.

The first: almost every woman uses too little. She pours what she would pour of a face serum, spreads it thin, and waits. The second: almost every woman who stops, stops too soon. Around the third week, when the surface feels better but the photo has not changed yet, she decides it worked or it did not, and either way she slows down.

Both mistakes come from the same misunderstanding: that this is a moisturizer, and a moisturizer is judged by the evening it goes on. Queen Oil is not that. It is a feeding, and a body that has gone hungry for years does not eat once.

So here is the amount, here is the reason, and here is the map of the whole journey, week by week and month by month. Find where you are on it. The instruction at every point is the same.

HOW MUCH

Pour a real pool into your palm. Not drops. A pool that moves when you tilt your hand.

Enough that it glides the whole length of the limb without dragging. If your hand catches, you have not poured enough. Pour again.

Everywhere. Arms, legs, chest, stomach, hands, the backs of the knees, the neck. This is a body oil, and the body is all of it. Skin that has gone thin and dry is rarely thin and dry in one place only.

Use more, not less. Morning and evening if you can, evening at the very least. Skin that has been dry for years drinks the first weeks; you will feel it disappear faster than you expect. That is not waste. That is the reservoir filling.

THE CHECK

Count from the day you open a bottle, not from the day the box arrives. Seven days after you open it, that bottle should be around halfway. That is the whole check, and it is the same check whether one bottle comes in your box or four.

One bottle in your box: it is your fortnight. Halfway by day seven, empty by the time the next box lands.

Two bottles: one in the bathroom and one at the bedside, or one for you and one for someone you share your house with. Each one, halfway a week after it is opened.

Three or four: the whole body, morning and evening, or several of you pouring. Every bottle in use is halfway a week in, and the ones still sealed are next in line, not a shelf.

If a bottle is fuller than halfway a week after you opened it, pour more tonight.

two bottles on a bathroom shelf, one open at halfway, one still sealed behind it, day seven, morning light

At this amount, one bottle is about two weeks on one body. Your box holds as many bottles as that pour needs in your house, and it comes every two weeks so you are never rationing and never without.

WHY

Why the first weeks are a loading phase.

Think of your skin as a reservoir that has been draining for years. Every year past forty-five your body makes less of the lipids that keep the skin dense and smooth, and the skin spends down what it has. By the time you noticed the change in the mirror, the reservoir was close to empty.

The first weeks of Queen Oil refill it. Nothing shows on the surface while that happens, because the oil is going where it is needed first, underneath. Then, somewhere between the third and fifth week, the surface begins to change, and it changes because the reservoir is full enough to hold.

Each of the four botanicals in the bottle has its own reason to need this loading time, and its own reason to need you to keep going after it.

babchi seeds camellia bloom sea buckthorn berries evening primrose

BAKUCHIOL.It works on the pace at which your skin renews itself. At our age one full renewal takes more than a month. Bakuchiol has to be there for the whole cycle, and for the next one, and the next. One cycle gives you a glimpse. Several give you a different skin.

CAMELLIA JAPONICA SEED OIL.This is the lipid your skin recognizes as its own, the one the years took. You wash, you sleep, you lose a little every single day. It is replaced daily or it is not replaced. That is why the pour is generous and why it is every day.

SEA BUCKTHORN FRUIT OIL.Omega-7 and carotenoids, the deep orange in the bottle. They build into the skin over weeks, not over applications. The first weeks lay them down. The months after keep them there.

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL.It carries GLA, a fatty acid midlife skin has largely stopped making. GLA needs weeks to settle into the skin, and it stays only while you keep feeding it.

Put the four together and the arithmetic is simple. The first two weeks fill. Weeks three to six show. Month two onward holds and deepens. There is no point on that line where using less makes sense, and no point where stopping keeps what you have.

THE MAP

Where you are.

WEEK ONE AND TWO

The loading phase. Your skin feels different by the second evening: softer, calmer, less tight after the shower. The photo has not moved yet, and it should not have. Your job this fortnight is the pour and nothing else. Halfway by day seven.

WEEK THREE AND FOUR

The surface starts to answer. Light sits differently on your arms and legs. You catch your hand resting on your own forearm without thinking. Someone at home may say something and not know what they are noticing. Keep the amount exactly where it is. Cutting back here is the single most common way a woman loses what she has just started.

MONTH TWO

This is where every bottle after the first does its real work. The texture you had almost stopped looking at is smoothing. A sleeve gets pushed up in a warm room. You stop planning your outfit around your skin. The reservoir is full; now it is being kept full.

MONTH THREE

The photo has changed. Take the same one you took at the start, same light, same place, and look. This is the month women write to me. It is also the month the change stops being a project and becomes how your skin is.

MONTH FOUR AND AFTER

You are still pouring the same amount. You are still doing it tonight. Not because anything is wrong, but because this is what fed skin looks like, and fed skin stays fed only while it is fed. The women whose results I am proudest of are not the ones who saw the fastest change. They are the ones a year in, still generous, still every day, with skin their own daughters ask about.

Wherever you landed on this map, the instruction is the same. Pour a real pool. Cover the whole body. Do it again tonight.

WHAT THEY SAY

Women ahead of you.

I used it like a serum for the first week and thought, well, that's that. Then I read the halfway thing and poured properly. By week four my legs looked like they did two summers ago. I'm at month five now and I would not skip a night.

DENISE, 61· MONTH FIVE

My husband asked what I'd done to my arms. I hadn't told him about the oil. That was week three. I'm on my ninth bottle.

PATRICIA, 58· MONTH FOUR

I nearly stopped after the second bottle because I couldn't see it yet. My daughter made me take the photo. Then I saw it. Six months in and my chest is mine again.

LINDA, 64· MONTH SIX

I use it on everything, knees to neck, morning and night. It's not a little bottle that lasts forever and I'm glad, because that's how I know I'm using enough.

CAROL, 56· MONTH THREE

I stopped for three weeks over the summer, travelling. It went back. Not all the way, but enough that I understood. I haven't missed a night since.

JOANNE, 59· MONTH SEVEN
9 in 10

subscribers past month three say they would not go back to using less.

Month 4

The women who report the strongest change at month four all describe the same thing: a real pool, the whole body, every evening.

Week 2 to 4

Most women who stop, stop between week two and week four. Most women who stay past week four are still with us at month four.

EVERY TWO WEEKS

The rhythm.

Your box arrives every two weeks because that is how long one bottle lasts on one body, poured the way it is meant to be poured. If your box holds more than one bottle, it is because more than one body, or more than one pour a day, is drinking it. Not sooner, so you are never rationing. Not later, so you are never without.

If the bottles from your last box are still sealed when the next box lands, that is a sign, and it is not a sign to skip. It is a sign to pour more. Go back to the check: halfway a week after you open it.

If you want another bottle in each box, for someone else in the house or for a body that drinks faster, it is two clicks in your portal.

I built this page so you never have to wonder. Come back to it in week two when the photo has not moved. Come back in month four when a friend asks how much you use. The answer does not change.

Tonight, the bottle. More than you think.

À bientôt,
Nohaila

P.S. Take the photo now, whatever week you are in. Same light, same place, every month. It is the one thing that will show you what the mirror hides.
